More Myspace, less Blogspot...

Keep up to date with me here - www.myspace.com/richardchristopherthomas - I will be updating this more than blogspot and it gives the ability to put up audio and videos.
If you want to get in touch with me for whatever reason email me - hailwaterchew@hotmail.com

'Arthritis of the Candle-Hip', my three poems/three videos enhanced CD will be available come Summer.

PS. I have recently been reviewed as a nervous emo-style poet with a thin beard and who reads gothic 'navel gazing' poems. If this interests you then come and see me live.

NEWS

A few gigs coming up...

19th April at The Roundhouse, Dartington - 15 mins
21st April at The Phoenix, Exeter - Taking the Mic - 5 mins
23rd April at The Blue Walnut, Torquay - 10 mins

I now have a Myspace page where you can listen to some recorded bits and there's also a couple of live videos on there too. I will probably be updating that more than I do this, so probably best to add me as a friend on there.

Also, I am making some videos for a few of my poems. We are going to record the poems with some instrumentation tommorow, and then we will do the filming next weekend. It's going to be good. The videos are going to be put onto an enhanced CD along with the audio tracks which will then hopefully be stocked in some local record shops. Aswell as that we will do some screenings around the southwest alongside a live performance. Keep an eye out for updates.

Snow

1

It's snowing.
Behold the blowing dandruff of God's great head!
His flaky scalp sprays and showers all!
And those angular shreds of winter
queuing up to break loose like school children from his Snow Cloud crown
can't wait to get their alabaster mitts on the Mediterranean Ocean!

It's snowing.
Yes, and know that global warming is a farce!
God's got to fix his hair powder itch
with a new shampoo. 'Get rid of it',
I beg of him. 'Save us humans from weepy eye and gluey nose!'
Oh, but if only God had something as wondrous, beautiful as alopecia!

2

It's still snowing.
God be dandruff free, dry scalp ridden
and we'd bask in the golden summer breeze for a lifetime,
swallows soaring at sunset doing mischief, just think of it!
The world bubbling away, the sea a broth,
the whole land toasted for God's no longer got danger with his scalp!
Ah! but it should be known that this is but a mere, bunged up, gargling, wheezy man's dream.

It's still snowing.
Oh, dear God, know that I'm a Christian
but I don't understand – the Sun's a skinhead, join him!
Or even for it to rain more often would be better news.
If this means crying more then think of me
with my melodramatic fear of needles in horror clinic,
uncomfortable and sweating the Nile trying to wipe out swine flu alone!

3

No more Snow forever!
The Rain a good weather to produce -
better than Snow – is as moist as it's next of kin -
the drop of Rain that moistens the head like a sweet pool falling.

No more Snow forever!
Hail! the shiniest of them all,
more painful but less deathly. God let go of/drop
Hail rather than Snow anyday, drop it on my eyeball.

4

Yet, there be more Snow.
The Wind of dry Earth, wet Earth, either Earth the same Earth
isn't doing the NHS any favours!
Know the Wind is but Snow's greatest ally, sometimes snatching
the loose crystals from his head before they've even had a chance to fall their mystical, illness
bearing fall, deathly and unkind on our fearing frozen doorsteps.

Yet, there be more Snow.
Oh, God, for my sake and the sake of all those who can't
start a fire, shave off that troublesome hair and
find some higher temperature keeping alternative.
Snow be gone for good and let the ice cream cones fall from your good natured skies with the
solar beams of paradise, get the clippers – the Weatherman's a wigmaker!
